Who and What is an ELIZABETH?!?



It was the night before my 40th birthday, January 31, 1993, a cold Sunday evening, and I was on my way to the Holy Ghost Full Gospel Tabernacle to hear a preacher named Dr. Myles Munroe from the Bahamas.  I had seen and heard Dr. Munroe on TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) and was astounded by the things he had to say.  (He talked about knowing your purpose for life … and about how that affected me.)  My mother told me he was in town so we went over to see him.



“Tomorrow’s my birthday”, I thought, “the 40th one at that”, and as those of you who are over 40 know it is a very significant day in your life.  It’s when you begin to really reflect on what you’ve accomplished in your life, where you are financially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  You begin evaluating friendships, relationships, career choices, etc., and looking at things in a whole new light.  It’s time for change.  Oftentimes, new directions, and you’re searching and hopefully seeking God for which way to go.  So that night I asked God to give me a special birthday present through the message I was to hear that evening through Dr. Munroe.  And so He did!



Dr. Munroe spoke profoundly under the anointing of God as usual.  He first shared about the value of time.  That was just an appetizer.  Then he went into the main course message, which is called “The Lessons From The Conception”.  I was already at the edge of my seat just from the appetizer.  I knew God was about to answer my request and give me a special gift for my 40th birthday that would change my life forever.  As far as I was concerned I was the only person in that packed church. My attention was captivated. I was hungry like a baby bird waiting for its mother to feed it. This was gonna be good. In the message, “The Lessons From The Conception,” Dr. Munroe gives 20 principles of how Jesus Christ was delivered here on earth. I tell you, as I was sitting in that room listening to the Spirit of God speak through him I felt like this man knew all about what I’d been experiencing for the last fifteen years of my life. I must share this with you, and pray that your life will be as profoundly affected as mine has. "And the angel answered and said unto her, ... and, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren." Luke 1:36 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost."
